Customer trust during a cyber crisis

Kin Levi

Customers judge a company by the clarity and usefulness of its response. They need to know what the incident means for them and where to ask for help.

What I have learned

Trust is not restored by confident slogans. It grows when commitments are specific, updates arrive on time and remedial actions can be observed.

What I would do

I would establish one source of truth, a support path, a next-update time and a record of promises. I would explain uncertainty without shifting the investigative burden to customers.
